As you can see, the text is contained such that the length of the text area is respected. These will be applied on the selected text only. Then you can type inside, setting size, font and other settings above. Just click once, create the text area, and click again to define it. Before typing, you must set a text area, where the text is contained and identified. If you want to put some text, you can use the Text Tool. If you want to undo actions done in the past, just press CTRL+Z or click on the Undo button above. If you mistake while drawing, just press Escape key. You can finish with an opened path, by clicking on the last fixed point, as seen in the Line Tool, or, if you want to close the path, you can click on the starting point, where your pointer becomes a dark pencil. In the Polyline Tool, you can go on drawing segments by clicking on and on. Arc/Circle Tool, you also need to define the correct arc length. If you go on creating lines, you can finish drawing clicking on a node, when your pointer becomes a dark pencil. With the Line Tool, the object is created when you fix the second point. You can also fix any direction holding Shift down. The Angle, the Arc length and so on follow. In Arc/Circle the Distance is equal to the radius of the object you are creating. This indicates the West and East directions on your workspace, while the Y axis indicates north and south ones. In Line and Polyline tools the Distance is the length from the previous fixed point, and the Angle the one respect to the X axis, that you can see if you are close to zero degrees. A small dialog box gives you information that depend on the tool you are using. ArchiCAD shows you, in advance, the shape you are creating.
To start drawing, you always need to fix a second point. You can fix it by clicking on your workspace. The drawing always starts from a starting point, indicated by a bold cross. Whatever is the tool chosen, ArchiCAD helps you at drawing them properly. The Line Tool is used to draw segments, the Arc/Circle Tool to draw curved objects, while Polyline draws more complex figures, curved or not. You can draw 2D objects through the Line Tool, the Arc/Circle Tool and the Polyline tool. All 2D tools are inside Document section, through which you can add lines, text and labels. Don't mind about the Elevation lines: these are useful inside 3D Projects. Useful is the Pan Tool: just click once and drag to move, and click again to finish with the tool.
